Round Island Re- sort Mahé, antici- pated to be one of the most exciting new resort ope- nings in the Sey- chelles Islands, has completed all the main struc- tures and roofs on all 10 villas and spa of this ex- clusive luxury island resort, due to open late 2010.

Round Island Resort is set to be a top-end exclusive resort in the Seychelles, featuring just 10 secluded oceanfront beach villas, all with their own private infinity pools just steps from the beach. The five acre island resort will be managed by Dubai-based hospitality company Jebel Ali International Hotels as part of the Enchanted Seychelles collection and will also host the Serena Round Island Spa, managed by Serena Spa.

“It’s wonderful to see the resort coming to life and now just the fittings, decking and landscaping remains before Round Island Resort will open its bountiful beauty to future guests,” said Sunil Shah, Director of Enchanted Ventures.

Round Island Resort’s unique Creole-Seychellois inspired architecture is a rare find in the Seychelles and guests staying on the island’s luxurious oceanfront beach villas will find themselves on the beachfront with a private infinity plunge pool, outdoor rain shower, French bath tub and four poster king size bed. The resort landscaping has included the creation of a dedicated plants nursery on Mahe that involved the propagation of almost 20,000 local and endemic trees, palms, shrubs and ground cover of approximately 220 different varieties typically seen in Seychelles. These plants are now progressively being moved to Round Island as part of the landscaping works.

The Serena Round Island Spa, which will offer a very personal wellness experience to guests of Round Island Resort, has three individual treatment pavilions, each with their own private steam room, shower and terrace overlooking the Indian Ocean and lush gardens. The ‘Adam & Eve’ couple treatment suite is nestled in the forest at the highest point of the island. In addition to the treatments of Serena Spa, sunrise yoga and special body wraps with locally grown natural ingredients will add a special touch to this charming island.

Situated in the middle of a designated National Marine Park, Round Island is roughly four miles east of Port Victoria and close to her neighbouring islands of Sainte Anne, Moyenne, Long and Cerf. A short 15-minute motorboat transfer from the main island Mahé will bring guests to the private jetty of Round Island Resort.
